ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) – Rock County delegates are investigating after a woman died west of Beloit on Sunday in a car accident.
Rock County Communications received a call at about 2:45 p.m. about an accident on the 8100 block of State Highway 81.
Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Orfordville Fire Department and Beloit Fire Department responded to the crash.
Deputies say the car went west and rounded off a long turn. They say the car drove fast before hitting a ditch, rolling and hitting a tree.
According to the sheriff, a 34-year-old woman from Beloit died at the scene. She was the driver and the only one in the car, and delegates say she was not wearing a seat belt.
Officials closed State Highway 81 from County Highway H to Smythe School Road due to the incident and reopened it before 5pm once the road was cleared.
The sheriff of Rock County is working with the medical examiner on the investigation.
