Hacker begins Beaumont scheduling, leading to 2,700 additional COVID-19 vaccine appointments
Beaumont Health cancels thousands of unauthorized COVID-19 vaccination appointments after someone found a way to hack into the hospital’s scheduling system and share it in public.
The violation enabled 2,700 people to register for an unauthorized vaccination for vaccine.

“These agreements violate the ethical distribution framework created by Beaumont based on the mandatory vaccination guidelines of the State of Michigan. We deplore the fact that 2,700 people in our community have been the victims of this unfortunate incident. We remain committed to killing as many people as possible. Beaumont Health’s senior vice president and chief information officer, Hans Keil, said.
The incident was first reported when an unusual activity was noticed in the hospital’s schedule system on Saturday.
The people who took advantage of the ‘unauthorized’ back door ‘route were notified that their appointment had been canceled.
The online infrastructure Beaumont uses is managed by Epic, an electronic medical record system company from Wisconsin.
According to the hospital, no one’s personal medical records are in jeopardy and no one can access outside of hospital records.
