It was an interesting week for the Chicago Bears. They have expanded a number of key players – in Cairo Santos and Pat O’Donnell – along with rumors that they would make a big splash in the quarterback position. There is one key player who will receive another contract. The player is Cordarrelle Patterson.
Patterson signed with the Bears in 2019 and played a major role in special teams, along with a wide receiver. In two seasons, he was targeted 42 times and reached 32 of the targets for 215 yards.
On the ground, Patterson has had more success this past season with Tarik Cohen injured. In 81 attempts over the past two seasons, he has 335 yards and a rush.
Patterson plays his big role in the return game, where he has been an All-Pro twice already. Over the past two seasons, Patterson has returned 63 times. He averaged 29.2 yards per return with a total of 1,842 yards.
On Twitter, Patterson had some fun with Bears fans. He played the role of ‘Twitter GM’ and has recruited players over the past two seasons. This time – after pushing Russell Wilson to Chicago – Patterson is curious about where he will play next season.
In a tweet to which Tarik Cohen and other Bears fans responded, Patterson said, “Ready to see where I play next year.”

Cohen had a fun offer to recruit his own “Twitter” GM.
Damn, I never thought I should recruit my own GM

Fans are even willing to donate to pay his salary if Ryan Pace does not want to do so.

Kicker Brandon McManus offered a spot on the Broncos and said he should join him there.
Since you can not score on me. You are mine too. Coming from Denver

Hopefully, Patterson will remain a bear next season, though his tweet was not exactly reassuring. He helped the Bears offense a lot with a big comeback. In addition to returning from two touchdowns, he had a big header that stepped one foot out of bounce before touching the ball against the Packers during their Week 17 game. That game gave Chicago the ball on the 40-yard line.
