Bears looking for a concert for Quarterback?

While the Bears may have promised Andy Dalton the start concert, they are still in the market for a rookie quarter. Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network (on Twitter) reports that Chicago wants to step up in the draft in pursuit of one of the leading quarterback prospects.

One of the teams I’m told is the Chicago is a realistic possibility to swap Put away, who wants to trade to get a QB, ” Pauline said during a recent episode of his podcast.

Pauline specifically points to the Cowboys at no. 10 as a potential trading partner, which would throw Chicago out of the fight for (presumably) Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and at least one of Justin Fields, Mac Jones, en Trey Lance. The Bears are currently armed with the No. 20 pick in the first round, along with a second and third round.

While the Bears top their depth map with Dalton and Nick Foles, there were constant whispers that they could look at the draft (including the first round) for another quarter. Head coach Matt Nagy he even seems to admit that the organization watched a handful of newcomers’ QBs during a recent meeting with reporters.

As everyone knows, we’ve been a few pro days with some of these quarterbacks, and it definitely helps, but there are just so many of those you can do and see. What is fair is that every other team does the same thing. Ryan and I are very excited about going through the evaluation process together and how we are doing it. It’s a challenge, but we’re looking forward to it. There are many good quarters in this draft class.
