‘Batwoman’ reviews Kate Kane with ‘Krypton”s Wales Day – Ruby Rose

Bat has appointed someone new to portray Kate Kane. TVLine has learned this Krypton and The Royals alum Wales Day takes over the role from Ruby Rose, who left the CW series at the end of last season.

Wallis Day Batwoman Kate Kane RecastSeason 2 focuses on the rise of Ryan Wilder (played by Javicia Leslie) as the new Batwoman in the wake of Kate’s mysterious disappearance after a nasty plane crash in Gotham. Kate finally reappeared in Sunday’s episode, in the gutter of Gotham and unrecognizably under heavy bandages.

“Wales Day is going to play our modified version of Kate Kane, and she’s an amazing actress,” showrunner Caroline Dries told TVLine. “I’m excited for you to see the journey she’s going through.”

Although it has come to light that Kate is still very much alive – even though it was badly burned – everyone believes she is dead as body parts that match her DNA have been repaired. The second half of season 2 will get the heart of where she has been all along and what it means for her character to move forward.

Day’s other credits include Jekyll and Hyde, Casanova and Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming film Never ending, starring Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
