Barnes & Noble’s new Nook tablet to be announced soon

We have not seen a new Nook tablet since its last debut in 2018, but today Barnes & Noble confirmed to Engadget that it is close to announcing a new device. Downloading new hardware would be one way to convince people that the devices have not been discontinued without requiring these frequently asked questions on the subject, and this new device will be manufactured in collaboration with Lenovo.

Other details are still under investigation, but a B&N executive said The edge that the tablet “designed with Lenovo” could be launched next week. The last Nook device in total was the GlowLight Plus which released it in 2019, but Good e-reader notes that the device and the Nook Glowlight 3 have been sold out as the company focuses on reforming its retail footprint from large malls to small boutique stores.

The first Nook shook things up by adding a secondary color screen to its e-Ink screen, and it will be interesting to see what approach Barnes & Noble and Lenovo take. The brand has already tried a collaborative approach with several Galaxy Tab devices, but perhaps these are the ones that stand out on the Kindles, iPads and Fire tablets.
