Bandai Namco is working on an expensive game from Katsuhiro Harada

The surprises continue before the year closes, because we now know that Bandai Namco is working on a very expensive project. There are a few news reports from Japan that we conclude in 2020, many of which stem from a few different interview projects, one of which is from Games Talk that interviewed various high-profile developers over the year and their prospects for 2020. One of the names to fall into this is Katsuhiro Harada, the man currently serving as director behind the Tekken series, as he very briefly revealed that he is working with Bandai Namco on a brand new project. What’s more, it’s apparently expensive. Here is the quote.

What could be so big that Bandai Namco would sink a lot of cash into it?
What could be so big that Bandai Namco would sink a lot of cash into it?

“Well, honestly, I think this is perhaps the most expensive development project in the history of Bandai Namco,” Harada said. “I think it’s unbelievable that the higher companies approve it. Well, the approval was passed, it’s just that we could not really start the project because of the coronavirus.”

Whatever it may be, your guess is just as good as ours. The safe bet would be something Tekken related, but we do not think it happens yet. The company still rides high on Tekken 7 and with a gap of seven years between the and the previous game, we guess that a new addition is not yet in the cards. (Especially with the way the story ended.) Be that as it may, the project is starting slowly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we are probably not going to know much about it until late in 2021. For now, we just have to kick back and wonder what it could be.
