Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson becomes 1st QB in NFL history with consecutive rushing seasons at 1,000 yards

Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson is the first NFL quarterback to rush for a thousand yards in consecutive seasons.

With his blazing speed and turbulent elimination, Jackson reached a 7-yard rush with a 7-yard rush in the third quarter Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The reigning NFL MVP penetrated Sunday’s game and needed 92 yards to reach the milestone.

Jackson plans to become the second full-back to win the NFL MVP and reach the playoffs in his first three seasons in the league, and then join Dan Marino. The Ravens can clinch a game map location by beating Cincinnati.

The only other fullback to rush 1,000 yards in a season was Michael Vick in 2006. Jackson dashed 1,000 yards in two of his first three NFL seasons, setting last season’s first season record for quarterbacks with Set up 206 yards.

For quarterbacks, escaping major stormy seasons was difficult. Before Jackson, the previous two backs to run more than 900 yards in a season (Randall Cunningham and Vick) next season have less than 600 runs.

The Jackson run launched Baltimore’s race to the post-season. In winning four games on Sunday, Jackson averaged 83.2 yards.
