Baldur’s Gate 3’s next big patch will add druids

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still in use early, and Larian Studios continues to add more features as it’s completed. The next patch, which is the biggest update to the game yet, will add the first new playable class since its launch, the Druids.

The Patch 4 update is called Nature’s Power, in keeping with the Druid theme, and it will add class with all the bells and whistles you expect from any other class. That means new dialogue and voice-over, new contextual storytelling moments, and of course 30 specialized spells and abilities. You can choose one of the two circles as the background of your Druid: the circle of the land, which is connected with geography, and circle of the moon, which has access to more combative morphic abilities.

Druids are transducers that can adapt their animal form to their environment. There will be eight shapes available as the class begins: Deep Rothe, Cat, Raven, Dire Wolf, Badger, Spider, Polar Bear and Aberrant. You can use the Cat form to sneak into unmarked areas, or the Badger to dig underground. The forms also offer new dialogue options, as you can assume Bear Shape is talking to a bear.

Patch 4 also includes quite a few other changes, and Larian says many of them respond to requests from players with early access. It includes optional loaded dice to ensure you do not have much luck or misfortune over multiple roles, improved movie animations and lighting, improvements to the Speak with Dead quality, multiplayer enhancements, such as the ability to play each other’s equipment and game see, and quality improvements in life, such as the ability to target friends by clicking on their player portrait. However, in the announcement it is noted that there is no lock feature in the multiplayer, so make sure you play with friends you trust not to steal your stuff.

But predicting the future is not really the task of an early access inquiry. To some extent, it’s fascinating to see Baldur’s Playing Gate 3 today, with the knowledge, you will be able to follow the progress in the coming months – and possibly years – with a kind of academic interest in how AAA RPGs are built, you will be able to see first hand how rough cuts are in shape beaten and finally polished.And for some small section of the audience it will only be worth the price of admission.For the rest of us there is no hurry.Baldur’s Gate 3 is not finished yet.It’s good to wait until it is. ‘
