Bachelor Nation responds to Chris Harrison’s defense of Rachael

Chris Harrison found himself in a very dramatic situation.

Last week, The old guy participant Rachael Kirkconnell—Which competes for the love of the very first Black Bachelor Matt James—Rased after a Reddit user shared photos of the Georgian resident attending a fraternity formal. The 2018 event was described by the poster as an ‘themed antebellum plant ball.’ Rachael has also received criticism for alleged behavior on social media in the past.

On February 9, Chris appears on Extra with Rachel Lindsay, the franchise’s first Black Bachelorette, and was asked about the situation. His answer immediately raises eyebrows.

“I haven’t talked to Rachael about it yet,” he shared. “And this is, again, where we all need to have a little bit of grace, a little bit of understanding, a little bit of compassion. Because I saw a few things online – again this thing from the judge-jury executioner – where people ‘just the girl’s tear life apart and dive into, like, her parents’ and her parents ‘voice record. It’s incredibly disturbing to watch. I’ve not heard Rachael talk about this yet. Me to say something about this?’

Rachel quickly said that the photos “never look pretty.” And on February 10, Chris apologized for his remarks and admitted that what he said ‘racism continues’.
