Average case in Allegheny County drops to lowest in month

Allegheny County reported another 340 cases of covidity on Wednesday as weekly numbers returned to lower averages.

The province’s seven-day average of new cases dropped from 491 on Tuesday to 351 on Wednesday. This is the lowest average of seven days since 326 on March 25th. For the month, the province averages 436 cases per day.

The total delivery last week was skewed by a data dump by a laboratory in Pittsburgh. Last Wednesday’s report included 1321 cases after a laboratory with sites in Ross and Upper St. Clair reported three months of test results simultaneously.

According to the Allegheny County Department of Health, 238 have been confirmed and 102 likely. The province’s total business grew to 94,841.

Westmoreland County added 137 covid cases – 72 confirmed and 65 likely – with its total climb to 31,830.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 4,602 additional cases, with the total increase to 1118,470. In the state, Philadelphia added the most cases Wednesday with 747, followed by Allegheny (340), Bucks (284), Montgomery (240) and Delaware (232).

Deaths

Of the 60 deaths just reported in the state on Wednesday, 57 are from April and three from March.

The Allegheny County Department of Health reported 12 additional deaths, bringing the total to 1,849. Some of the deaths were from December and 11 in April, with ages ranging from one person in their 50s, one in their 60s, five in their 70s, three in their 80s and two in their 90s.

The state health department reported one new death in Allegheny County to increase the total to 1,879. The difference between the two reporting methods of the health department has not been fully explained.

Westmoreland County has experienced three additional deaths, with its total increase to 731. Here is how the deaths in Westmoreland County have divided monthly since the pandemic began:

Fayette County added three, while Beaver, Butler and Washington had one piece.

Long-term care facilities and nursing homes accounted for 13,054 fatalities, representing more than 50% of the total state. Montgomery County had the most with 1,091, followed by Allegheny (1,023), Delaware (837), Philadelphia (836) and Bucks (692).

Hospitalizations

Covid hospitalizations in the state reached its highest point in more than two months on Wednesday, with 2,842. This is the highest daily total since 2,890 were admitted to the hospital on February 9th. It is also almost double the lowest point in the state, when only 1433 patients were admitted to hospital on 14 March.

Hospital admissions in Allegheny County increased by nine to 290, with 82 people in ICUs and 40 needing ventilators. The 290 patients are the second highest in the past month – there were 299 on 13 April. The province reached its lowest point on March 16 when only 135 patients were admitted to hospital, but the number has been steadily increasing over the past month. .

Westmoreland County covid hospitalizations numbered one to 60, with 16 patients in the ICU and nine ventilators. Covid hospitalizations in the country are difficult to compare due to a data error from the state health department. Provincial hospitalizations dropped inexplicably on March 18 from 117 to 26 on March 18, and the state has not yet explained what happened.

Vaccinations

Nearly 25% of Westmoreland County is fully vaccinated, according to data from the state health department. According to the state, 88,931 provincial residents were fully vaccinated (24.4%), with another 50,094 receiving their first shot.

In Allegheny County, 27.4% of the population (335,163) were fully vaccinated, with 230,355 partially vaccinated.

Across the country, 2,886,162 people were fully vaccinated and 1,907,425 were partially vaccinated. These totals do not include people who have been vaccinated by a clinic in Philadelphia, a federal agency, or any other state.
