Avelo Airlines said on Thursday it would fly from 28 Burney Airport on April 28 to 11 destinations. It has one-way rates from $ 19.
Avelo’s first routes focus on smaller airports in California. Other destinations include Oregon, Colorado and Montana.
The carrier will fly Boeing 737s.
Avelo’s rates do not include change fees or call center fees for customers booking by phone.
Avelo was founded by a longtime CEO who thinks there is room for another cheap airline, in addition to the several cheap airlines that are already in the market.
“There are too few seats in the United States offered by low-cost servers. That’s why we think the opportunity is great,” said Andrew Levy, chairman and CEO of Avelo. “Customers want a very inexpensive way to get from point A to point B.”
While Avelo Houston mentions his corporate home, he did not immediately express plans to add one of the city’s airports as destinations.
Although Houstonians cannot save big money on the ultra-low rates, Avelo offers a number of out-of-town jobs. If you are looking for work, you can view the open position of Avelo on its website.
