‘Avatar’ to surpass ‘Avengers: Endgame’ as the highest-grossing movie ever

Pour one out for the earth’s most powerful heroes.

‘Avengers: Endgame’, the all-but-the-kitchen-basin Marvel superhero campaign, is poised to relinquish its title as the fastest in history to ‘Avatar’, the previous record holder. Prior to the release of ‘Endgame’ in April 2019, James Cameron’s groundbreaking scientific epic held the largest box office crown for a decade with $ 2.797 billion worldwide. “Avengers: Endgame” obscured the milestone so slightly, generating an informal $ 2.7902 billion worldwide ticket sales.

But on Friday, ‘Avatar’ returned to cinemas in China and earned $ 3.5 million, pushing the total pull to a historic $ 2.77926 billion. After this weekend, “Avatar” is expected to take back the best box office price.

What “Avatar” took several reissues to achieve, “Avengers: Endgame” was able to achieve within three months due to an unprecedented question that can never be repeated. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was the highlight of 21 films (each box office juggernauts in their own right) over the ten-year period. It became the most important film event of the year when the Avengers teamed up to take down the ultimate malicious Thanos and moviegoers emotionally the Robert Man of Robert Downey Jr. The comic book mashup also plays Chris Evans as Captain America, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, plus just about every other costumed character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -list.

The re-release of ‘Avatar’ in China comes as the country experiences an unprecedented box office demand as it recovers from the coronavirus pandemic. Several movies in China, including “Detective Chinatown 3” and “Hi, Mom,” have already reached trailer status. Meanwhile, almost no one went to the movies in North America and ticket sales collapsed as Hollywood studios continued to postpone their most exciting versions.

Although ‘Avatar’ was released by 20th Century Fox, Disney now owns the property after the companies merged in 2019. With Disney’s acquisition of Fox’s film assets, the Walt Disney Company houses eight of the ten most lucrative films.

With more than $ 2.5 billion in worldwide revenue, “Avatar” and “Avengers: Endgame” are in rare company. The third highest grossing film ever is ‘Titanic’, grossing $ 2.47 billion. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avengers: Infinity War” are the fourth and fifth largest films with $ 2.068 billion and $ 2.048 billion respectively.
