A new secret cheat code has been found in Neir: Automata allowing players to skip the entire game after just beating the first boss. This new discovery has also been confirmed as the ‘last secret’ that teased the game’s developers a few years ago.

Released in 2017, Kidney: Automata is a game with more than a dozen different endings and many secrets. The only way to really beat the game is to play it multiple times, and get different endings and stories. However, someone has discovered a secret cheat code that allows you to skip it all and jump to the end of the game after hitting the first boss.

In Neir: Automata, once you unlock E, play through a difficult series of arcade shooters where you have the task of destroying the credits of the game. Once you beat it, you can sacrifice your storage data to help others players beat this end. It’s not a joke either. Once you agree to give up your data, you lose all your progress. However, it takes some time to reach this point and you have to beat the game several times.

This is where this new cheat code comes in handy, as you can skip it all and sacrifice it instead. you save data immediately after hitting the first boss Kidney: Automata.

Popular mud and data miner Lance McDonald discovered this wild secret, which is not a bug, but rather an actual cheat code programmed into the game.

McDonald did not fully explain what’s going on in the video above, but it does show how he beats the first boss, and then athereafter, he goes to some barrels and starts entering the code. Eventually the screen fades to black and Kidney can you then sacrifice your storage data.

According to McDonald, it took him ‘hundreds of hours’ to reverse-design the game’s code and engine to find this final cheat code. And shortly after sharing his discovery, the game’s director Yoko Taro seems to confirm that this was indeed the final secret.

The Japanese Kidney Twitter account also confirmed that it was indeed the final secret. ‘It seems that the last secret has been discovered. ”

McDonald, which has a history of finding and creating cool stuff like this, says he will soon release a full video on the new game-skip cheat code. Until then, you can beat the first boss Kidney: Automata and then go to those barrels and try to discover the code for yourself.
