Australia’s political culture is back in the spotlight when new report on lewd actions appears in parliament

Morrison’s comments come hours after the Australian newspaper and Channel 10 reported allegations and images of an anonymous whistleblower about misconduct by male government staff in the House of Commons.

They have the men who filmed themselves with solo sex acts, including at the table of a female MP.

One government staff member has been removed from his post, a government minister said on Tuesday.

Morrison described the report as “disgusting” and said he would speak to all government staff on Tuesday to remind them of their responsibilities.

The ruling Liberal / National Coalition has come under sustained pressure in recent weeks following allegations of rape by a Liberal Party staffer, including one in the office of a cabinet minister.

The issue prompted tens of thousands of people to rally Australia last week and led to a slump in Morrison’s position in opinion polls.

Morrison tried to defend his government’s efforts to improve gender equality, but on Tuesday he accepted that there was widespread dissatisfaction.

“I admit that many Australians, especially women, believe I have not heard them yet, and I am very distressed,” Morrison told reporters in Canberra.

“We need to do better … we need to get this house in order.”

However, he made few concrete proposals to improve the culture of the workplace in parliament, insisting that changes be announced in the coming weeks.
