More car enrollment services are running into trouble. According to Autoblog, Motor News has learned that Audi and BMW are terminating and interrupting their services respectively. Audi will discontinue its Select program on January 31 without mentioning a revival, while the Nashville-only Access will be closed by BMW as the carmaker develops the ‘next iteration’ of the service.
The two brands did not elaborate on their decisions. When Mercedes-Benz Collection closed, however, it mentioned the mediocre demand and complaints about the difficulty of switching personal items between vehicles. Although not mentioned at the time, the COVID-19 pandemic did not help. People commute less than it is at all, and they may be more interested in saving money than the flexibility of swapping cars.
