Auburn will be without the standout in Citrus Bowl

Auburn will face Northwestern in the Citrus Bowl without its top corner.

Roger McCreary is not available for the game, sources told AL.com.

This will pose some challenges for the Tigers’ secondary, especially with Auburn also expected to be without starting with Christian Tutt. McCreary leads the team with three interceptions.

But while the two are out, another Tigers defensive back, who was not expected to be available, could finally play.

After security guard Jamien Sherwood, who sustained an ankle injury, originally indicated to people around the program that he would not be playing in the game, he traveled with the team to Florida, according to sources.

Sherwood, a potential Day 2 NFL draft, ranks third on the Tigers with 65 tackles.
