Attack on Titan final season is closer to its final episode, and Crunchyroll has a brand new trailer to build the hype. The final installment of this season is episode 16, which airs on March 28, but it is not clear exactly how it will end the story.
As you might guess based on where this season was headed, the trailer for the final episode contains a lot of fights. The trailer does not give away much, and regularly cuts from one bloody or explosive scene to the next, without spoiling much of what is to come.
One thing that fans might find a little odd, though, is that the title of the trailer says very specifically that it’s for the final season, not for the final finale. This is particularly noteworthy because the Attack on Titan manga, which provides the anime with the source material, only ends on April 9 and the anime is already significantly ahead. So, what happens next?
There are a few possibilities for the anime series after this “finale” airs. Simply put, it could just round off the story with a very different ending than the manga would have. However, since the anime has followed the manga so far, it seems unlikely that the show will simply end here, or create a completely different ending.
Another possibility is that Attack on Titan final season will actually have a second part that can be broadcast later this year, or even in 2022.
The last few chapters of the manga can also be wrapped up in a feature film or two. With the recent resounding success of the Demon Slayer film, which adapted a complete arc of the manga into an almost two-hour-long film, could be the perfect finale for a series as globally popular as Attack on Titan.
We do not yet have official words on what the future holds Attack on Titan. For now, fans will have to be content with Attack on Titan final season‘s season finale ‘on March 28 and the final chapter of the manga, which will be released on April 9.
