Atomic Heart GeForce RTX preview shows impressive footage and intense action

It’s been a while since we got a new trailer for Atomic Heart, but the people at NVIDIA gave the game a fresh GeForce RTX-powered look. Atomic Heart originally made headlines as one of the first indie games to promise to take advantage of the then new radiation detection and DLSS technology, with early footage focusing heavily on flashy RTX reflections, but this new footage looks slightly different . Atomic Heart developer Mundfish seems to have started focusing more on ray lighting and shadows – the reflections are still there, but overall, this trailer felt a darker, moody feel. But do not worry, there are still many strange images and intense action to be seen. Check out the new trailer below.

Looks good! Need to know more? Here is a brief description of Atomic Heart’s story.

The game begins when robots start attacking humans. [The game’s protagonist] P-3 will have to investigate what caused all these events, and what (or who?) Should go behind them.

We work closely with NVIDIA to create the most beautiful gaming world you have ever seen. Solutions we have shown before are reflections and shadows detected by rays. They stay safe. We are currently implementing DLSS and other features recently made possible due to RTX and DX12. We’d like to try out more features, but players can still play Atomic Heart on non-RTX hardware.

Atomic Heart has been announced for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4 and PS5. The game currently has no release window, and Mundfish said they do not want to produce a ‘half-baked’ product. Fingers crossed, we will get more information soon.
