Atletico Madrid 3-1 Valencia Three more goals against Valencia

Diego Simeonesay Atletico Madrid has always been described as a boring side to look at, but at the moment it can not be further from the truth.
It’s just a shame that one of the most entertaining Atletico teams in years have to play in front of an empty Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
Their 3-1 victory Valencia Sunday night was proof that, with Luis Suarez and Joao Felix they are always entertaining.

Not many expected Valencia to take the lead at the Wanda, let alone do it in such an incredible way.
Uros Racic opened the scoring in the first half with an unstoppable, curled attack from a distance that bent into the top corner, far outside Jan Oblakreach.

Atletico did not pass the whole season from a corner before Sunday and after he was close Jose Maria Gimenez, Joao Felix hit the spot of Thomas Lemar‘s cross. It was an unorthodox finish from the Portuguese, but it did the job.

There was a controversial moment in the first half when Maxi Gomez looked like he was sweeping Lemar‘s leg from under him in the Valencia penalty area. No penalty was awarded by the referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea.

Mario Hermoso is very useful for Atletico as he plays backwards. His thumb-perfect long pass for Joao Felix triggered the move that led to Luis Suareztheir goal.

If there was a problem finding a replacement for the suspended Kieran Trippier, Yannick Carrasco at least demonstrated what he can do in the second half. The Belgian moves to the right wing and plays much better than Sime Vrsaljko in the first half.
