As has been the case for the past few weeks, Braves fans’ universe has revolved around the question, “Will the Braves bring back Marcell Ozuna?”
It was a fair question and an important question. Although we are not sure if the DH is going to be in the National League or not (although the signs are pointing to no at the moment), we do know that a Braves lineup with a pitcher and Ender Inciarte had to work. (at least from this moment on) and without Ozuna … makes one excited. The Braves could have survived without Marcell, but it would be a big blow to make sure.
Therefore, yesterday’s report was in any case somewhat encouraging given that the Braves stay in the mix in Ozuna’s market. Jon Morosi has even gone so far as to say that the Braves are the current favorite for his services.
However, there is a lot of protection over the optimism, as it was clear that other teams like the Dodgers and Rays on Ozuna and Atlanta’s sports fans, if anything, know how to help themselves get hurt again. Fortunately, this did not happen the Braves have indeed secured Ozuna on a very, very reasonable four-year deal it secures Ozuna $ 65 million with a fifth-year option. Your 40-man casualty to sign Ozuna was Kyle Garlick, nominated for the award. You will be forgiven if you forgot that the Braves even had him on the roster.
If you are podcasts, be sure to check them out the episode that Brad and Scott recorded in emergencies to discuss, said Ozuna signed. You should also subscribe to the Talking Chop podcast stream in iTunes, Stitcher, or whatever you prefer. We would appreciate it.

Trevor Bauer signs $ 102 million three-year deal with Dodgers
The big news starting in the league this weekend is that the best pitcher on the free market, Trevor Bauer, is joining the best team in the league as he has signed a three-year deal with the Dodgers. A short-term deal, but with a high AAV and with opt-outs, Bauer’s signing is a reminder that, unless proven otherwise … the Dodgers will be the final boss for at least the next few years.
Mike Foltynewicz was close to signing a deal with the Rangers
Mike Foltynewicz was apparently on the verge of leading a talented young Braves rotation over the next few years. Unfortunately, some rather physical setbacks not only cost him the chance, but it chose him straight from the Braves 40-man. Now it looks like he’s on his way to Texas (he started his career with the Astros) because the Rangers want to add him as a possible major league option.
