Atalanta teen Real Madrid

Time: Wednesday, 15:00 ET (CBS All Access)
Atalanta +140; Sign +250; Real Madrid +185 (chance via William Hill Sportsbook)

Take rounds: Because Papu Gomez is no longer in the squad, it is difficult to support Atalanta against a contradictory but still very dangerous team from Real Madrid. Choose: Atalanta 1, Real Madrid 1

Romano se neem: Atalanta’s speed can cause serious problems, but a draw with both teams’ score looks like a good result for Zinedine Zidane’s team. Choose: Atalanta 1, Real Madrid 1

Echegaray neem: Colombian duo Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata are just too dynamic not to let things happen in this one. I also feel that Gian Piero Gasperini wants to act for this and try to prove to a Champions League audience that they are more than just Papu Gomez. Muriel in particular was fantastic and when he is going on he is unplayable. I think Real Madrid’s backline will simply struggle. Let us not forget the overwhelming amount of injuries Zinedine Zidane has to deal with. From Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Marcelo, Dani Carvajal, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo to Alvaro Odriozola and Eder Militao, Los Blancos is simply thin … and the last thing you want to face is a hungry Atalanta. Choose: Atalanta 3, Real Madrid 1

West’s name: The rumors about the death of Atalanta are very exaggerated. Papu Gomez was a big loss, but Atalanta proved they were no joke even without him, and their 4-2 win over Napoli at the weekend was a big statement. I see them taking Real Madrid to the wire. Choose: Atalanta 1, Real Madrid 1

Johnson takes: I’m going for a wild cause with four goals, maybe more out of hope than anything else. Few European parties can compete against Atalanta for thrilling value, while Real is not the beast they used to be on the continental stage. I’m going for an entertaining draw that keeps it alive for leg two. Choose: Atalanta 2, Real Madrid 2

Benge takes: There is no logic or rationale behind this choice, except for one simple fact, I spent far too much of this season writing a obituary for a Real Madrid team that will not stay dead. I know that the defense looks bad, that they will miss Karim Benzema excessively much and that I will not want to rely on Mariano to lead a thinning out in the Champions League. But in these circumstances, you just can not help but expect those middle bells of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to go on the ball and start running the game, strangling life out of Atalanta. Choose: Atalanta 0, Real Madrid 1

Gonzalez takes: Numerous goals, poor defense and nothing decided after the first inning. Although he does not have Karim Benzema, Real Madrid find goals when they are most needed. Choose: Atalanta 2, Real Madrid 2

Herrera neem: Real Madrid will be without the services of striker Karim Benzema, along with several other key players, due to injury. Atalanta’s attacking form has reached a high level that will be difficult for Real’s backline. Choose: Atalanta 2, Real Madrid 1

Goodman’s name: Madrid are increasingly relying on both Luca Modric and Toni Kroos in midfield, leaving them defensively open, especially with Sergio Ramos on the sidelines. Atalanta can take advantage of this with their full screen, up and down style. They will in turn also be exposed by Madrid and Karim Benzema. Choose: Atalanta 2, Real Madrid 2

Borussia Monchengladbach against Manchester City

Time: Wednesday, 15:00 ET (CBS All Access)
Monchengladbach +800; Sign +430; Man City -300 (chance via William Hill Sportsbook)

Last chance:

Manchester -1.5

Take rounds: As long as Pep Guardiola does not tamper with the team too much, I will bet City will emerge victorious. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 2

Romano se neem: Marco Rose has already announced that he will leave at the end of the season, but above all, Man City are probably now the best team in the world. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 3

Echegaray neem: Man City are currently the best team in Europe and any opponent will struggle to get anything. What’s scary for anyone who wants to get something against Pep Guardiola’s team is that the Premier League team is doing it on both sides. Offensive they are always going to deliver. They just have too much firepower, and now with Kevin De Bruyne back, they are just too much to handle. But it’s defensively where Man City have really improved. Only 15 goals conceded in the Premier League and in the group stage of the Champions League? A goal. Gladbach also walks badly. Have not won a game in their last three yet and are therefore not in a Champions League place. Not to mention that their manager Marco Rose is going to Borussia Dortmund this summer, so where does the motivation come from? This is a high order for the Bundesliga team, who will be welcomed by Guardiola as he wants to eventually win the tournament with the club. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 2

West’s name: The Fohlen have not won a game outside the DFB Pokal in February. Manchester City were unstoppable. I expect Gladbach to fight a decent battle, but City will have just too much for them. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 2

Johnson takes: As much as I would like Die Fohlen to produce a surprise, I think the men of Pep Guardiola will be too strong here. I can see the hosts scoring, but the visitors largely dominate and put themselves in a strong position before returning. Choose: Monchengladbach 1, Manchester City 3

Benge takes: Pep Guardiola’s team is the most versatile, ingenious and amazing team in Europe. Gladbach can not claim a victory now and offers all the offensive blow of Homer Simpson. Unfortunately for Marco Rose, they are about to face Drederick Tatum. It’s a paddlin ‘. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 3

Gonzalez takes: No team plays better than Manchester City in the whole world, and after not achieving the amount of goals expected against Arsenal on Sunday, they demolish a contradictory Gladbach. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 3

Herrera neem: Man City were in incredible form en route to the round of 16, while Gladbach struggled in Bundesliga play after advancing from the group stage. Search Man City to set the pace early. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 2

Goodman’s name: The City defense juggernaut turns on. City are currently the best team in Europe and the best at strangling teams defensively. Gladbach is a creative attacking team, with the disciplined structure that enables them to create good chances without preparing figures by breaking fast with a clever and innovative move. City will wait, however, as their own innovative, mostly purposeless system enables them to keep figures in reserve to stifle just such an approach. Choose: Monchengladbach 0, Manchester City 2
