Asus announces a trio of HDMI 2.1 game monitors for the new consoles

Asus has announced that a trio of HDMI 2.1 game monitors are perfect for the latest consoles. The ROG Swift XG43UQ is a 43-inch 4K game monitor with a VA panel and a refresh rate of 144Hz. This monitor provides the brightest picture of the group with a brightness of 1000 nit and covers 90% DCI-P3 of the color gamut.Best of all, the ROG Swift XG43UQ has two HDMI 2.1 ports, so you can connect both your Xbox Series X and PS5 to this screen. The Asus ROG Swift XG43UQ also features ELMB, one DisplayPort 1.4 port with DSC (Display Stream Compression (DSC)), which enables the monitor to deliver a 144Hz 4K experience without a chroma subsampling. Synchronize to eliminate smearing and motion blur, resulting in sharper animation for more fluid and responsive gameplay.

Asus claims that the ROG Swift PG32UQ is the first 32-inch game monitor with HDMI 2.1 to take advantage of its 4K IPS panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz. Better yet, it has two HDMI 2.1 ports plus a DisplayPort 1.4 port with DSC.

The Asus ROG Swift PG32UQ also has a fantastically bright and vibrant panel that displays 98% DCI-P3 color space and reaches a peak of 600 nit. It also comes with G-Sync and Reflex Latency Analyzer modules, so you get real hardware-based G-Sync and you can measure how long a game mouse click takes to translate to on-screen action.

Asus TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A

Last is the Asus TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A, a 28-inch 4K gaming monitor with an IPS panel, 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. On this screen you also get 125% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3 color coverage, 400 neat peak brightness, ELMB Sync and variable refresh rate technology.

Asus has not yet set prices for any of these monitors, but they will launch in the second quarter of 2021, so expect them to drop somewhere between April and July.
