Asteroids, earthquakes, plague and more

It seems we are not getting away from Nostradamus predictions, not even after 2012 when the world did not actually end. Nor can we shake bad news. While some astrologers predict a somewhat hopeful future in the new year, you better start greeting if you believe in Nostradamus.

The Nostradamus predictions in 2021 are morbid, frightening and exhausting, especially after such an unpredictable year. And the predictions seem to end with an uncertain death: another prediction that the world will end as we know it.

For a bit of background, all these predictions come from Michel De Nostradamus, a French philosopher who lived in the 1500s. He left behind some poetic predictions – exactly 6,338 prophecies – which, according to some contemporary believers, foreshadowed a number of contemporary tragedies, including Adolf Hitler’s reign and America’s attacks on September 11th.

Now his words are being used to shine astrological predictions on 2021. Website yearly-horoscope.org decoded Nostradamus in their 2021 compilation, and it can be scary to read. According to the website, 70 percent of Nostradamus’ predictions have come true, and although the 2021 lineup seems a bit far-fetched, we’m sticking the thumbs up that it’s wrong this time.

Nostradamus predicted that many terrible things would happen, including a zombie apocalypse and a global famine. But these events do not necessarily mention 2021 as the beginning time. The famine, for example, was derived from this prediction:

“After great trouble for mankind a greater one is prepared, / The Great Mover renews the ages: / Rain, blood, milk, famine, steel and plague, / Is seen the heavenly fire, a long spark runs.”

Obviously, the ‘big problem for mankind’ seems to be the coronavirus. That is why some people think that the famine and other horrors may come soon. His zombie prediction does claim that the battle between ‘half-dead’ and a life will end the world, but the year is not mentioned.

A few predictions from Nostradamus coincided directly with events that have happened in recent years. One is an asteroid that the philosopher predicted would hit the earth – or go near. Yes, NASA is watching some asteroids, 2078 to be exact National Geographic. But in 2021, scientists will begin a program called the Double Asteroid Redirection Test, or DART, which will test its technological capabilities if it threatens to drive asteroids off course.

Also, an asteroid named 2014 SD224 shot past Earth on Christmas Day, which technically means that this prediction has already come true and dozens of times before.

One event that appears to be specific to 2021 is that the state of California could be destroyed by an earthquake. “The sloping park, great disaster, / through the lands of the West and Lombardy / The fire in the ship, plague and captivity; / Mercury in Sagittarius, Saturn fades,” Nostradamus wrote. And Mercury in Sagittarius is expected to take place on November 25, 2021.

Nostradamus predicted much more, including a greater threat to climate change, religious trends, military technology, and more. You can read it all here.
