(CNN Español) – The candidate of the National Action Party (PAN) in Ocotlán de Morelos’s election, in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, Ivonne Gallegos Carreño, murmured this Saturday, although details about the incident were reported at the time.
“Lamento and condemn the attack in which he lost the life Ivonne Gallegos”, wrote on Twitter the governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat.
“With respect to the autonomy of the Fiscalia, I solicit the initial investigations into what this lamentable hecho does not impede,” he agreed.
The General Tax Office informed on Twitter that it was launching the investigation into the death of Gallegos “with a gender perspective and with the highest standards, in order to procure an effective action and with due diligence”.
Hasta now has not reviewed details about the circumstances in which the candidate lost the life.
The Fiscalía did not respond immediately to the request for additional information sent by CNN this Saturday.
Local media indicate that Gallegos Carreño –también exdiputada local– fue assesinada a balazos mientras viajaba en un van van Santo Tomás Jalieza, en el norte de Ocotlán de Morelos.

The President of the National Executive Committee of the PAN, Marko Cortés, stated the assignment in a message on his Twitter account and said “a deep investigation, justice and punishment of those responsible”.
The Gallegos assassin said two weeks later that the Mexican government had presented a plan to protect candidates for public charges “organized by the organized crime”.
“Sabemos que el nivel de gobierno más kwesbaar es el Municipal, más auen cuando stann zaan de influencia del crimen organisado o de cuello blanco, por ello es necesario actuar con una guía clara”, dijo el 4 de marzo la secretaria de Seguridad y Protection of Mexico City, Rosa Icela Rodríguez.
According to the Mexican Government, between September 2020 and February 2021, there will be at least 64 cases of homicide related to political incidents.
Oaxaca, Guanajuato, Veracruz, Guerrero, Morelos, Baja California and Jalisco are the states where the mayor will focus on this type of incident, agreed with these government dates.
