Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s free new River Raids mode is now available

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the famous content video game, got a great free update today. The Yule Season update adds a new game mode called River Raids, which adds higher-interest additions, a new and customizable longship, and a

There is a trailer that explains the new features below.

Falling into Valhalla is where you get on your boat with some Viking friends and go fight a fight with Englishmen. Alice B enjoyed it in her Assassin’s Creed Valhalla review, and this update is designed to let you do more of it without having to deal with major game progression or affecting your alliances around Englnad.

Valhalla has been quite massive according to most Assassin’s Creed games, but this update also adds three new river maps to sail around. There are different types of settlements you can attack in the region, and some are designed to be more challenging than those of the main game. Consequently, you will unlock better benefits for completing it.

The part that interests me the most is not mentioned in the video above – not in detail. The Vikings you take with you during these raids are recruited and upgraded via a new Jomsviking building, but Ubisoft mentions that the Jomsvikings are “created online by other players”. I’m always a fan of that kind of environmental multiplayer and can call a friend to say I killed them while trying to burn down a town. More games – all games – should contain some of the Dragon’s Dogma stuff in it.

There are still Valhalla updates coming, with the Ostara update coming out in March, to offer a new game mode again.
