Assassin’s Creed co-creator Jade Raymond launches new studio with PlayStation

Jade Raymond was one of countless developers who found themselves unemployed last month when Google abruptly discontinued its internal Stadia game development studios two years earlier. The former Ubisoft CEO who was instrumental in the creation of the Assassin’s Creed and Watchdogs franchises start with their own studio, with Sony and PlayStation supporting her.

Raymond has named her new independent store Haven Studios. The studio in Montreal has no other announced staff, but in her announcement post on the PlayStation Blog, Raymond writes that ‘many of the talented game developers I’ve worked with for years (and love very much!) Get together to do what we do is very passionate about ”, which hopefully means that Haven will be a landing site for Stadia talent who was left in the cold after the sudden closure of Stadia Games and Entertainment.

Since this is merely a studio announcement, there are no games to talk about yet, and probably won’t be for a long time yet. But since Raymond has spent the last few years on frustrated attempts to release a game, it’s not hard to imagine that Haven Studios would be very eager to deliver one as soon as possible.
