More than a week has passed since the screenshots of the terrifying alleged DMs between Armie Hammer and a series of women first appeared. Now, the actor has apparently issued an apology, though that is not the reason why many people think so.
Pop culture obsessives have been stunned for days by the screenshots, which have not been confirmed by any official source, but it appears that the actor once described himself as a ‘cannibal’, and nurtures slave and rape fantasies. In addition, other messages and on-the-record interviews from one of his exes claim that Hammer was also at least mentally and emotionally insulting. The actor dismissed the claims as ‘nonsense’ in a broad statement announcing his departure from the Jennifer Lopez romkom Shotgun Wedding.
Of course, tabloids have dug up all the dirt on the ground over the past week. Call me by your name actor – including a private Instagram account where the actor apparently posted a photo of himself with the hallucinogenic DMT before a mandatory drug test. The report also includes a video of a woman posing on her feet on a bed in lingerie, her bottom red with a caption referring to her as’ me. Cayman. The video is apparently what Hammer needed to address explicitly.
The whole committee of the Miss. Cayman Islands apparently did not appreciate the nickname Hammer gave the woman in the video. “The role of Miss Cayman is in part to serve as a role model for young Cayman women,” the organization wrote in a statement last weekend, as first reported by People. ‘The portrayal of the woman in the video is in conflict with everything our organization stands for and therefore the committee asks that Mr. Hammer immediately all references to Miss. Cayman removed from his social media channels.
Hammer now has an apology via the Cayman Compass– apparently the first time he publicly acknowledged the account and confirmed its authenticity. “I want to make it clear that the person in my video, which was stolen from my private Instagram, is not Miss Cayman,” the actor said.. “I’m really sorry for the confusion that my foolish attempt at humor may have caused.”
