Armie Hammer apologized for the incorrect reference to a woman wearing lingerie in an Instagram video he posted as ‘Miss Cayman’. “I would like to make it clear that the person in my video, which was stolen from my private Instagram, is not Miss Cayman,” Hammer said in an audio message to the Cayman Compass. ‘I’m really sorry about the confusion my foolish attempt at humor may have caused. My sincere sympathy to Miss Cayman, whom I do not know, and to the entire organization, for I did not intend to imply that she was in fact Miss Cayman. ”
In the video posted on his secret Instagram account @ el_destructo_86, Hammer gives a video tour of a hotel room in The Ritz Carlton on the Cayman Islands, in which a woman dressed in lingerie sits on all fours on the hotel bed. The video is subtitled: “Well … my ex (for a very good reason) wife refuses to come back to America with my children. So I have to go back to Cayman … who’s struggling. Except that there are some silver liners. Like Mrs. Cayman again, while I’m down there. ‘Hammer is currently in a divorce process with ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, who lives with the couple’s children on the Cayman Islands. The face of the woman Hammer refers to as Ms Cayman in the video has been obscured.
Hammer’s apology follows an Instagram message from Derri Dacres-Lee, chairwoman of the Miss’s whole committee. continued and wrote: “The committee is very upset about the video and wants to confirm that the woman is not the ruling Miss Cayman Islands and has no affiliation with the Miss Cayman Islands.”
Last week, Hammer left the Lionsgate movie Shotgun Wedding in which he would play against Jennifer Lopez after being embroiled in a social media scandal over alleged private messages and videos of his online distribution in which the Rebecca actor shares graphic sexual fantasies regarding rape and cannibalism. Hammer denied the allegations, calling them ‘malicious and false attacks’.
