‘Ariel’ fights for life after an accident in which Chiefs coach Britt Reid was involved

A five-year-old girl who was involved in a car accident in Missouri in which Britt Reid, assistant coach of Kansas City, was involved, left in the hospital bed for her life.

The young girl, whose family members were identified as Ariel, was seen linked to medical tubes and heavily connected in images posted on a GoFundMe page after the crash.

“Ariel, who has just turned 5 years old, had swelling in her brain and had bleeding around her brain. She has not woken up since the accident,” the girl’s aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, wrote on GoFundMe. “She is still in a very critical condition.”

Reid was behind the wheel of a white Dodge Ram near the Chiefs training facility around 9pm on Thursday when he hit a Chevrolet Traverse pulled over on the side of a highway ramp, authorities said.

Reid, who is the son of Andy Reid, head coach, reportedly told police he drank between two and three drinks and prescribed Adderall.

According to the GoFundMepage, Ariel’s mother drove the Traverse to the I-435 ramp to help a cousin who was no longer distressed.

In addition to the fact that Ariel was injured in the accident, a 4-year-old child also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The GoFundMe page has raised more than $ 123,000 since its launch on Saturday.
