Your horoscope this week: 28 February 2021
With the full moon in Virgo just behind us, it is not unlikely that we will still feel all the full moon feelings. Full moons have great reputations, and this one was no exception. In fact, in addition to everything we would astrologically think about full moons, February 26 was the beginning of the new lunar year or, Tết, the year of the ox. While it is not particularly graceful to chart the lessons of the ox in Western astrology, it is useful to realize how a moon that celebrates in its name and receives sacrifices is a spiritually strong celestial body. To understand how a full moon in Virgo can specifically affect you, it is helpful to find out where it lands in your homeland and what other planets it may affect. For something looser, it’s worth reading especially for your rising sign! Aries Sun & Aries Rising The week following the full moon, you alternate between the commitments you made and the dream projects you just want to return to. The muddy waters of the Fishing Season certainly do not help much, and cast a honey light on any dream space, whether it be a bed, a donkey or the arms of a lover who has not yet shown your humanity. Sometimes the best way is to address your obligations and the people for whom you have made them to meet your need for dream space. If you feel stressed, set aside time specifically for your imagination – just you and your daydreams right in the middle of the day. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Taurus Sun & Taurus Rising You do not have to earn pleasure, you know, you can simply have it like some people have water when they are thirsty. Of course, we all know that you have a reputation for being strongly inclined to lean and lean, but you tend to combine indulgences with a large dose of impossibly high standards for you, like a workhorse with velvet reins. If you are trying to justify what you are resting on this week, quickly taking your hours into account and gaining strength, you must resist it! Trust that you have made enough to earn a night on the couch – or even a day! Instead of researching your productivity, focus on what you produce when money is not the driving force. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Gemini Sun & Gemini Rising It’s not bad to want the celebrity, to bury yourself in bed with an animal and call it a day. In the week following the full moon, you will long for creature amenities and familiar places, even if the form they take has less to do with the environment and more to do with the people you feel at home with. These impulses may seem a little at odds with your ambitions this month, your plan to put yourself out there and open some new doors for you. In fact, you find that it’s a little less scary to take a few chances or even a few risks and put yourself out there emotionally if you do it from a place where you feel safe and supportive – even if are you This is to write stands out of your blanket fort! Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Cancer Sun & Cancer Rising Almost no one exercises 100 percent of the time they preach. Especially if they feel defenseless or when the circumstances encourage everything. It is unattainable to feel confident about different parts of yourself if everything around you wants you to believe the opposite – even if you are part of the so-called radical circles. To be part of communities that preach one kind of ethos, but rarely show that faith is all the more disorienting in practice. It’s hard to know why we’re anxious when people around us claim to be invested in our comfort … and yet. You forgive people you respect, don’t you, for their moments of weakness? Shouldn’t your respect for yourself and your growth include the same kind of grace and relativity? Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Leo Sun & Leo Rising When you get used to extremes, it’s hard to get out of it. It is easier to say that you are tired of the way a situation feels to you and have a harder time giving an account of the fact that you are still choosing the situation. What if this week, instead of figuring out if you want to jump on the deep side – or never want to swim again, you take the time to sober up about what that kind of decision making is for you? What draws you to connections or commitments that use equal parts to achieve self-protective avoidance and self-destructive bondage? You do not have to come to any conclusions and you certainly do not have to run away from it. What is important is to try your best to see your emotional world as a system, and to begin to realize that it is a system of which you are an active part. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Virgo Sun & Virgo Rising The week after the full moon in your sign you may find you struggle to keep the balance between what you do for work and what you do to feel part of your community – if you assume that there is some degree of separation. If they are one and the same, you might think that the people who said ‘do what you love’ would not be ‘productive’ in doing what they claimed during a global crisis. Of course you have to keep all the balls in the air – you always find a way – but at what cost? If you have finished juggling and have time to think, you may want to consider: while complacency is a worthy feeling to pursue, it is fleeting. Do a little less, take rests that do not include other people, open yourself up to a quiet day. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Libra Sun & Libra Rises When we feel restless or insecure, it’s hard to keep things right. Dates, plans, the contracts we make with others, the fine print begins to fade. A mistake can be the universe that gives you an easy outing, or it can be a complete blow. What is important is to realize that we are making more erroneous mistakes when we do not feel consistent. And it’s hard not to feel disappointed. Disappointment is a valid feeling and if you listen carefully to it, you can learn a lot about yourself. Disappointment, for example, is proof that you have expectations and attachments, which are signs of self-love. Disappointment can teach you what you want for yourself, and if you do not discount or suppress it, it can teach others what you need to be respected and cared for. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Scorpio Sun & Scorpio Rising Hop is not something most of us can just drum up. It’s a feeling, yes, but it’s a practice too. You build it up slowly and try your best to pin it to something that can stand the test of time. Sometimes hope does not look like you would expect, so you need to leave room for the possibility that a number of things may harbor hope in you. This week, when you are after the big feeling that there is something good on the horizon, try to remember some benevolent power that can bring you from here to there, that helped you as a child to get that feeling. Maybe you drew a lot, for example, and imagined the future with the images you made. It can therefore serve you well to give the child inside your free drawing time. Whatever comes closest to the first practices of hope is more than good enough for now. Illustration by Stefhany LozanoSagittarius Sun & Sagittarius Rising Maybe you’ve been in the rush of ‘fake it’ til you make it for as long as you can remember. Even if you forged it very little of the time. In fact, despite your persistent fear of never measuring, you have trained yourself well enough to not only measure, but also surpass many of your peers. So what is it that keeps you from feeling that you deserve your place? Can there be anything comforting if you continue to consider yourself less equipped or capable? This week offers you plenty of opportunities to enter your full capacity in whatever position you are in. Take on the challenge, Sagittarius. The more you allow yourself to feel that you are in the right place, the more right that place will feel. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Capricorn Sun & Capricorn Rising It seems that what worked for you these days is just going smoothly these days. Of course, by sheer determination alone, you can and will at the end of whatever track you walk before moving on to a surprisingly similar track. But are you not tired? Don’t you want to find another way of doing things, one that ultimately does not make you feel physically and emotionally destroyed? Of course you can! And I’m sure if you were here, you would say something like, ‘If I were, I would.’ Well, what if there were things you did not know you could do? What if you have to get a little uncomfortable to get better with what is apparently familiar? You’re never too old to learn something new, dear Capricorn, and you are definitely not done with your lessons yet. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Aquarius Sun & Aquarius Rising It seems that Ashanti was right: dreams are real, and all you have to do is just believe. The first step is the hardest and simplest part – the one where you acknowledge what you want and give your permission to want it. Of course there is magic in it, how can it not be? Even more so if you write it down and give it a name. A name gives something life and to repeat it makes it a spell. Leave this week, when you feel a vision knocking on the door of your mind. Let it know and its needs. What would be needed to bring that vision to life? Why not now? These days, you find that you have more time than you know what to do with. You can spend it practically, you can spend it wisely, or you can spend it to do magic. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano Fish Sun & Pisces Rising I promise you I’m not trying to sound like someone’s parent, but wouldn ‘t you feel a little better if you cleaned your room? Well, maybe not your literal room (though it may not cause harm), but rather the rooms you call your own, the rooms you make with other people, and the rooms where you live when you work and create. Maybe it’s time to sort things out and name them for a good mate. If you felt free and unobstructed, you might have led down this path, but the feelings you developed along the way kept you here and pressed hard. Why not call it what it is and put it right? You will feel better if you can see the floor below you and recognize the shape of things. You will feel better if the air has room to flow past you, even if it could mean storing things away for another season or giving them away completely.
