The Secretary of the Department of Health (DS), Carlos Mellado López, firm with the administrative order 2021-493 in the integrated integration process with COVID19 in the food industry, pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment, the sector of Public transport, air transport and maritime cargo. Dicho sector will be waiting for an order form and coordinated by the Vacation Program and will not be attended at the evacuation centers.
Specifically, it starts with those that work in production, distribution and, exclusively, are employed in the sales chain in supermarkets. Inside the food industry, included; agricultural nurseries, bird nurseries, apothecary stores, supermarkets and food distributors.
“We are advancing in accelerated form in the inoculation process, ahead of the 100 million weekly vacancies we are expanding the sectors down to Phase 1B that we are meeting. These new groups will be coordinated specifically by the DS Vacation Program, continuing to attend the priority given to those who are over 50 years old with chronic conditions and the adult adults over 60 years of age, who must attend them in the municipalities and in the evacuation centers of our providers ”, expressed the Secretary.
Mellado López demonstrated that, “from the 2nd of February we will be integrating Phase 1B, giving priority to the major adults, however, many of these groups are in this phase that we are attending and we are having little to no. For this reason, we are passing the next priority group following the Guides established by the CDC. This food and medical equipment group is estimated to number 70 million people ”.
The recommendation:
The DS initiates talks with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Food Distribution (MIDA) for a variety of experiences that are part of the inoculation in its population group.
On the other hand, the optional staff of the Universities that belong to the education sector initiated in February will also be integrated. This effort will take place at the end of an agreement with the Central University of the Caribbean in Bayamón; the School of Medicine, University of Puerto Rico, Recinto Río Piedras, Recinto de Mayagüez y Recinto de Ciencias Médicas; San Juan Bautista Medical School; Ana G. Méndez, Gurabo; and the Interamerican University in recent years in Barranquitas and Guayama.
Asimismo, commencement of coordinated form and ordering the evacuation of the public transport sector, air transport and maritime cargo, also relevant to Phase 1B. The first to be evacuated by this group will be the transporters of the “Llame y Viaje” program, by the Metropolitan Autobuses Autobuses (AMA).
The Secretariat of Health recorded that, “persons over 50 years of age with chronic conditions and adult adults of 60 years can apply for vacancy through the portal www.protegetevacunate.com. The portal only requires a valid identification number and year of birth. Once the system is valid the information, it will locate the different coordination centers to coordinate its citation. The person can select the center that is most convincing ”.
