Appointments go in quickly for the COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Springfield Walmart

SPRINGFIELD, MA (KY3) – Walmart is hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at a Springfield location on Thursday. Appointments, however, proceeded quickly. The appointments were discussed within a short period of time.

Walmart will administer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in Springfield with a clinic at the Walmart Supercenter, 3315 S. Campbell Ave., via the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. Eligible patients can make an appointment with the vaccine through the Walmart website, which makes it easy to be vaccinated while the vaccine supply lasts. Vaccines will be available to those who meet the current phase of vaccination admission in Missouri, which can be found at the Missouri Department of Health. Insurance is not required, there is no cost involved in receiving the vaccine, and appointments for the second vaccination will be made during the appointment. Appointments are available from 08:00 to 16:00 and the company expects these events to take place over the next few weeks, as the award allows.

Walmart has selected the vaccination clinics in places that give priority to those considered the most vulnerable. The team took into account demographic information, local health needs and medically underserved data to identify places where the business could make the biggest impact on vaccine access.

‘We have two goals when administering vaccines: firstly to get as many shots in suitable arms as possible so that we can continue the process of reopening our country, and secondly to ensure equitable access to vaccines in the communities we serve. . The majority of our new vaccine clinics are in medically underserved neighborhoods, and we are proud to play a role in accessing care in these communities, “said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president, Walmart Health & Wellness, “We will continue to find new ways to increase access to vaccination for our customers as we work towards the end of the pandemic.”

Walmart works with the CDC and says they need to move as quickly as possible to give vaccines to the appropriate population in participating states. Vaccination and admission to vaccines will depend on state and local guidelines. In addition to appointments, the scheduler will provide a digital reminder when it is time to return for the second vaccine, and therefore customers are asked to create a profile, thus ensuring that customers receive the second dose of the vaccine within the required time frame received.

Walmart Pharmacies will continue to support states and the federal government to increase the availability and availability of COVID-19 vaccines. Visit https://corporate.walmart.com/covid-vaccine to stay up to date on how Walmart and Sam’s Club support vaccine vaccination.
