The first time we saw that the Tonic App had done something more than one year ago, in the 2019 Web Summit.
Hemos has the CEO and co-fundadora Daniela Seixas, who told us that he had received the app, how he forced his use with the pandemic and what his closest metas were.

– Do you use medical records for your application in Spain at the world level?
– In Spain our community has an account with more than 16,000 doctors since its launch in September 2019. The user acquisition has been quadrupled since June. At the European level, we have more than 38,000 doctors between Portugal, Spain and Italy. And we’ll be crying!
– Do you have any predominant expertise among doctors that use Tonic App?
– The most dominant boy specialties: Family and Community Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. In Spain, we also have as prominent anesthesiologists and resuscitation and geriatrics.
It is said that we are diversifying the profile of our users and we are looking at specific project markets. For example, one of the projects developing in Spain is oriented to cardiologists, and by 2021 we are in the process of approaching projects related to other specialties.
– Do you share such cases among optional things? How to guarantee that the RGPD is complied with and respects the privacy of the patients within the application?
– Tonic App takes very seriously the security and privacy of the data of its users. We strictly comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD). Regarding the data of the patients specifically, given that Tonic App is a digital ecosystem centered in medicine, we decided not to process any such data.
– With what financing and financial support do you already have?
– Tonic App will collect 3.5 million euros of investment and venture capital, with investments in various European countries, such as Vesalius Biocapital, Armilar Venture Partners and Portugal Ventures. We also participated in a Growth program at The Venture City Accelerator, with offices in Madrid, Miami, San Francisco and São Paulo.
– What is the Spanish market for the company?
– The Spanish market has been the first in that the Tonic App has reached the international level, after three years of creation and consolidation in Portugal. The great contribution in Spain of the Tonic App has allowed us to validate something that we intuíamos: the added value that our service provides to the medical community in other countries.
The fact that in Spain we have more than 16,000 users and that our commitment (using the app) is notably high, it is for us to confirm that we are prepared to continue expanding in other markets.
– What paper did the Tonic App develop during the pandemic?
– March 11, 2020, the day the OMS announced that we were facing a pandemic, we found a peak of engagement in the Tonic App, and so, users who trust us and will share our app in search of resources and information.

– Do you believe that coronavirus has the trampoline that is missing from ehealth and mhealth?

Our talent is 58% female and 31% foreign, a percentage that is rare in technology companies and, including, we hold women in the management of our startup – Daniel Seixas, CEO, and Sonia Gimeno, CFO -. Quiza does not appear in the first instance, but the world of technology is less discriminatory than the world of medicine. We hope that our team will serve as an example and show that it is possible: it is possible that the women work in the age of technology, it is possible that the women lead companies, and it is possible that the doctors work in the age of technology.
– How do we, firms and firms enter into a partnership to facilitate homologated electronic prescription? Can we meet with more respect?
– La private electronic receipt has been able to make free form available in Tonic App in collaboration with the Osigu technology platform. Undoubtedly, the free private electronic receipt system has a large capacity of which we feel very sorry, and from the moment of its launch we have received numerous degrees of appreciation on the part of our medical community, which we love help in these difficult times.
The system developed by Osigu is one of the first to receive the approval of the Collegiate Medical Organization (WTO). This system is integrated with the NodoFarma portal, the property proportioned by the General Council of the Superficial Colleges of Pharmacists (CGCOF) for the management of private receipts.
To access the private electronic receipt system for free, the only option is to download Tonic App on your mobile phone and register to access the Electronic Recipe door by Osigu. Once validated, the physician in the form of an immediate form will start issuing prescriptions, which will be read directly to patients’ mail.
– What can we hope for in the future in the middle of the application and startup?
– Tonic App will be multiplied soon: Tonic Web is a feature of 2021. The new year will also bring essential medical supplies, such as video consultations and a fully dedicated patient section. 2021 va a ser a year of great geographical expansion for Tonic: we will enter two more European countries.
