The latest MacBook Pro with Apple’s M1 chipset has received some discounts since the end of last year, and is currently on sale at Amazon. But the online retailer is contributing to an already solid selling price with additional discounts. The 256GB MacBook Pro M1 dropped to $ 1,150 thanks to an auto-applied $ 50 coupon, and the 512GB version dropped to $ 1,350 thanks to a similar $ 49 coupon.

Apple fascinates us with the MacBook Air M1, which showcased the impressive capabilities of the new chipset. The MacBook Pro M1 raises it even further and deserves a score of 84 from us. The M1 chip performed just as well as we expected and provided the Pro with even more power thanks to the notebook’s more efficient cooling system (it has, unlike the Air, a fan to help things). The Pro M1 was fast paced and handled games pretty well thanks to the improved GPUs. We were also impressed with the Pro’s battery life, which lasted more than 16 hours during our standard tests and had enough juice left over after a full working day.

But the Pro does have some limitations that power users will want to consider. In the first place, it only supports up to 16 GB of RAM, which is a chase for those of us who like to identify our machines with as much RAM as possible. Although the new GPU cores are solid, this is the only one you can use, as the new Pro does not support external GPUs and is also limited to one external monitor. You also want to make sure that the software you use daily is optimized for the M1 disk drive. While there are already a bunch of popular apps, the switch is not yet universal. But if you need an upgrade and all your M1-ready software is ready, Amazon’s offering on the latest MacBook Pro is a great option to consider.
