Now’s your time to act if you want Apple’s M1 Mac mini with more than a basic amount of storage space. Amazon is selling a version of the small desktop with 512 GB of storage for $ 829, or $ 70 off the regular price and a new low for this configuration. You can also get the 256 GB base model for $ 649 ($ 50 off), but it’s clear that the higher-end system represents the better bargain.

Buy Mac mini (512 GB) from Amazon – $ 829

We’ve seen numerous Mac mini sales, but they were almost always limited to the entry-level version.

This can be a lot if you are looking for a compact desk that still has a fair amount of punching. As we discovered in our reviews of the latest MacBooks, the M1 is a transformative chip – it sometimes delivers performance you’d expect from higher-end desktop CPUs, let alone chips in its class. You can also expect a very quiet computer, even under heavy workload. The 512 GB storage is highly recommended if you plan to retain local media or manage larger applications.

There are restrictions. This model still has 8 GB of RAM – it is more efficient than you would expect, but it is not the computer that is important to you as memory. There are also only two Thunderbolt / USB-C ports that can limit your expansion, and it can not handle more than two monitors simultaneously. This does not include hiccups of certain applications that have not yet been optimized for the M1, such as some development tools. However, if you just want a fast machine for everyday use, you may have everything you need.
