The best price we saw on Apple’s latest iPad Air is back. Amazon is selling the silver and green versions of the iPad Air for $ 559, which is $ 40 off their normal price. The rose gold and space gray models are also discounted, though not as heavy, and the blue model hovered between $ 549 and $ 559. Rapid price increases or sold out stock have led to these sales coming and going since the beginning of the year. So this is a good time to grab the Air, while saving at least some cash on each color option.

The Air came out last fall and out of all the iPads of last year, it is the one that received the biggest design overhaul. It looks a lot like the iPad Pro with its thin edges, flat edges and a lack of circular home button. There is still no FaceID on this model, but Apple has moved the TouchID sensor to the sleek lock button on the side of the tab. It also has a USB-C port for charging, and like the iPad Pros, it can be used with Apple’s luxury Magic Keyboard accessory (currently on sale). If you are a notebook or artist, you can also use the second generation Apple Pencil with the Air.

We were impressed with the Air’s lovely Liquid Retina display, its fast performance and WiFi speed and its long battery life. It is noteworthy that the Air was the first Apple device to use the company’s A14 Bionic chip, and that this represents many of the tablet’s performance improvements. Apple estimates the battery life up to 10 hours, but we were able to get up to 12.5 hours in our testing.

Apple has widened the gap between the iPad Pro and the Air with this new model. If you feel comfortable skipping the advanced features included with the benefits (like FaceID, LiDAR and a four-speaker setup), the Air will save you money and probably serve you just as well. And if fun color options mean a lot to you, the Air is definitely the right way.
