Applebee’s new virtual kitchen sells Cheetos-flavored wings

Applebee’s offers another virtual kitchen.

On Wednesday, Dine Brands, which owns Applebee’s and IHOP, announced the launch of its latest venture, Cosmic Wings.

According to the announcement, the virtual wing restaurant – which operates out of more than 1,300 Applebee kitchens – is available for delivery on Uber Eats.

The wing chain’s menu includes conventional items such as traditional wings, deboned wings, waffle fries, onion rings and chicken tenders.

Cosmic wings ‘specialties, however, are the Cheetos-inspired items, including traditional and deboned wings cooked in the original Cheetos wing sauce or the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos meat sauce.

According to the announcement, the meat sauces – which are made with Cheetos crumbs – are exclusive to Cosmic Wings.

“We are excited about a partnership with Cosmic Wings to delight our fans across the country in this new way to enjoy the distinctive flavors of Cheetos,” said Jessica Spaulding, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay North America. said a statement. “When you combine your beloved Cheetos flavors with everyone’s favorite entrees, you get the best match.”

To celebrate its launch, Cosmic Wings is offering a $ 0 delivery fee for all orders of $ 15 or more for the remainder of the month, through February 28th.

Cosmic Wings is not the first virtual restaurant to operate out of Applebee’s kitchens. Last May, Dine Brands launched another virtual concept, Applebee’s Neighborhood Wings, reports Forbes.

However, with the launch of Cosmic Wings, Neighborhood Wings is declining, the magazine reports.
