Apple Watch ‘Ring in the New Year’ Activity Challenge Now Available

Apple’s next Apple Watch Activity Challenge is officially here. Apple’s annual “Ring in the New Year” challenge lasts until the end of the month, and it encourages Apple Watch users to close all three rings seven days in a row.

Apple Watch activity challenges are intended to promote the use of the watch for fitness and as a way for Apple to guide users to use the exercise tracking features. This is the third year out of the last four that Apple holds a “Ring in the New Year” challenge.

While most Apple Watch activity challenges focus on a specific day with one goal, such as completing a 5K, the ‘Ring in the New Year’ challenge is a little more strenuous: you have to stand, exercise and move rings for seven consecutive days.

If you complete the challenge, Apple will reward you with exclusive badges in the Activity app, as well as stickers for use in Messages and FaceTime.

Beginning 2021 right. Earn this award this January by closing all three rings for seven days in a row.

Comfortably, Apple launched its new Fitness + workout service in December, giving Apple Watch users a new way to fill in their activity rings every day. Learn more about getting started with Fitness + in our complete guide.

Apple also promotes the January challenge via a video on the Fitness + page of the Fitness app on the iPhone:

Apple Watch users can find more information about the challenge in the Fitness app on their iPhone. Check out the stickers you can unlock below. Taking part in this ‘Ring in the New Year’ challenge on your Apple Watch? Let us know in the comments!
