An Apple Spring event is taking place, where we can see a new iPad Pro 2021, the AirTags and more. But it looks like the date is in the air.
According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple’s next big event will take place on Tuesday, March 16. Suffice it to say that the translation engine does not provide much help in the nature of its resources, but the article mentions two Twitter accounts – @LeaksApplePro and @FrontTron – if independently set the same date.
Not so fast. One of the most trusted Apple reporters in the Bloomberg area Mark Gurman, says in ambiguity that the said date is of the table.
It gets more interesting. @LeaksApplePro replied, and said he would investigate a bit more ‘ before later tweeting that there would definitely be an event in March, though no confirmation of the 16th.
If you got a little lost. There is * a * March event. Now we all thought it was the 16th, but it looks like Mark heard another date, but that’s it. Do not worry, you will have an event.20 February 2021
So, while you should definitely take the March 16 date with a whole salt shaker, something is coming. Spring events have long been a feature of the Apple calendar, with the iPad Pro for 2020 in use on March 18th. In 2019 it was March 25 and in 2018 it fell on March 27, so later it is definitely possible.
There is a long list of things we can see during the Apple Spring 2021 event, but the report keeps the list of candidates on three: a new iPad Pro, a refreshed iPad mini and the long-awaited AirTags.
The star of the app will undoubtedly be the iPad Pro of 2021. While not expected to be a dramatic redesign, the tablet will receive an upgraded mini-LED screen, new built-in magnets to enhance its accessories, and 5G for those willing to pay extra for a mobile model.
Next up is the iPad mini 6, which has not seen a refresh since 2019. It may seem like a long time in Apple terms, but it’s worth remembering that the company has not released a new mini-tablet since 2015. it could be a dramatic redesign, as the 2019 version looked a lot like its 2015 predecessor. The rumors indicate smaller edges, which can stretch the screen to 8.4 inches.
Lastly, there are the AirTags. The product finder will reportedly sync with the other devices via the U1 Ultra Wideband sensor, making it a competitor to Tile. Although AirTags have apparently been finished for some time, it’s been a no-show the last few occasions. This time, maybe? It appears that Leaker Jon Prosser thinks so, and he tweeted last week that they are ‘still in March’ and that he ‘has not heard of any further delays this time’.
Other possibilities not mentioned include AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 2 and 2021 iMacs refreshed – possibly with Apple Silicon inside – but there are just as many that can be treated in a single event, and Prosser apparently does not think it this time probably is not.

We should (hopefully) know next month for sure.
