Apple releases limited edition AirPods Pro to celebrate the Year of the Ox

Apple has launched some limited edition AirPods Pro for the year of the ox, and it’s cute enough that even those who don’t celebrate the Moon New Year tend to buy it. The boot of the pair is engraved with a special ox icon, which is also printed on the holder on which the device appears. However, Apple only sells the Oss edition earbuds in certain regions in Asia, which include China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia.

The good news for those who can get it at their Apple Stores is that it apparently costs just as much as the regular version without the engraving. In China, for example, the earbuds of the Ox edition are listed for 1,999 RMB (310 US $), or the same price as their regular counterpart. According to the Chinese Apple Store, there are only 25,400 Ox Edition pairs for sale – it’s not entirely clear if it’s just for China or for all the regions where it’s available – with 11,480 pairs to be sold through retail stores and 13,920 to be sold online. Furthermore, each customer can only buy two pairs, which will probably make it more difficult for dealers to store the devices.
