Apple iPhone 13 Can Bring An Always-On Display, 120Hz Refresh Rate

We are about one and a half in 2021 and enjoying our iPhone 12, and we are already greeted by some promising leaks for the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 12S, whatever it is finally called. There has been a lot of information coming out recently from various sources that gives us an insight into what we can expect from Apple this year. Like most leaks and speculated information, it may or may not end up in the final product (s), so take it with a pinch of salt.

The ‘exclusive’ information was shared by Max Weinbach in a video by EverythingApplePro, known for its fairly accurate leaks around Apple products. In terms of design, the new iPhone 13 Pro models will retain most of the design elements from the iPhone 12 series, but with a more refined matte finish on the back, which can feel soft just like the Google Pixel. It is also confirmed that the iPhone 13 / 12S Pro models feature 120Hz LTPO screens, something that is expected to come on the iPhone 12 series, but for some reason does not materialize. The new iPhones are also expected to deliver a new Always-On Display feature similar to the Apple Watch Series 5 and 6. It is expected to offer very minimal adjustments, while keeping the clock and battery status will be visible at all times. For incoming notifications, only a small portion of the screen will illuminate rather than the entire screen.

Always-on-screen will be minimally customizable. The current design basically looks like a tinted lock screen. The clock and the battery are always visible. Notifications are apparently displayed with a bar and icons. Upon receipt, the notification appears normal, except that the screen will not burn completely. Instead, it displays it just as you are used to now, except that it is muted and only temporary.

The new iPhone 13 series is also expected to include stronger magnets for MagSafe, which can make compatible chargers and other accessories attach much more securely to the phone. The new iPhones may also be slightly thicker, though so far there is no visible reason. The notch may be shorter this year, but may have the same width as current iPhones. There’s also no fingerprint scanner on the screen this year – so if you’m still waiting for Touch ID to compensate for the inefficiency of Face ID in this COVID-induced mask-dominated reality, do not hold your breath for this year.

A very interesting feature that Apple apparently is working on is a new night mode for the camera that is similar to the Astrophotography mode of Pixel. Once the camera is aimed at the night sky, the iPhone will search for certain artifacts such as the stars or the moon and decide to turn on this mode automatically. Also expect options for long exposure times.

There is also a possibility that Apple will offer similar telephoto cameras on the new iPhone Pro and Pro Max, which is not the case on the iPhone 12 series. So expect 65mm lenses with an aperture of f / 2.2. We can also expect Portrait Video on the upcoming iPhone series, where it will be a single mode and offer the ability to change the depth of field during post-processing. The entire iPhone 13 series is also expected to include a new ultra-wide camera with an enhanced sensor and a 6P lens. In terms of quality, it will not be as good as the other cameras, but it is expected that Apple will reduce the overall gap. The same has been confirmed by popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo as well as two analysts at Barclays, so there is a lot of confidence behind this rumor.

Another piece of information coming from Kuo is that the new iPhone will use a vapor cooling system to hopefully provide better cooling on the inside. There is also a rumor that Apple may finally offer the ability to use your iPhone to unlock your Tesla car with the built-in U1 chip. We first saw this chip on the iPhone 11 in 2019. Oh and lastly, Jon Prosser, who is also a well-known tipster, suggests that the iPhone 13 may actually be called iPhone 12s, which is odd because we have the iPhone 11’s not seen. .
