iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max

Apple has reduced orders for iPhones by 20%, according to a report by Nikkei on Wednesday, due to reduced demand for its smallest iPhone 12 mini model.
Apple’s new iPhones are still very popular. Apple plans to build 230 million iPhones in 2021, according to Nikkei by 11.6% over 2020. However, the iPhone 12 mini is not selling as well as expected as consumers get the older iPhone 11 with a larger screen, the larger Dress iPhone 12 or the more premium iPhone 12 Pro models.
Apple shares were slightly negative in pre-trading on Wednesday. Shares rose more than 4% on Tuesday.
Consumer sentiment seems to reflect the reviews of the phones when it was first launched in November. CNBC, for example, said the iPhone 12 mini is basically just a smaller version of the iPhone 12 with a poorer battery life. And while it’s compelling for people with smaller hands, most consumers just have to spend the extra $ 100 for the iPhone 12, which has better battery life and a larger screen.
However, the iPhone 12 models were largely successful for Apple. Apple no longer discloses how many iPhones they sell each quarter, but in January, research firm IDC said that during the fourth quarter of 2020, Apple shipped 90.1 million devices, the ‘highest shipping volume of a seller in a single quarter ‘, and Apple helps lead the world’s leading telemarketer, ahead of Samsung for the quarter. Apple iPhone’s revenue for the quarter also rose 17%.
That momentum behind the iPhone 12 helped Apple book a record-breaking holiday quarter in 2020, bringing in more than $ 100 billion in a quarter for the first time in the business.
Apple was not immediately available for comment.
