In Bangalore there is still something to look forward to Apex Legends’ new Chaos Theory event. The soldier gets her own heirloom next week and players who complete the latest collection get it as a bonus.
The Bangalore heirloom is a nod to both her past as an IMC soldier and an important part of her backstory: the search for her brother Jackson, who she says is still alive after an accident.
How to get the heirloom of Bangalore
The set is available by completing the Chaos Theory collection. To do this requires a lot Apex Coins and craft materials. There are 24 cosmetics to choose from and players who unlock them all get Bangalore’s heirloom as an extra reward.
Players aiming for the heirloom may consider using their manufactured metals to place a dip in the collection by picking up Epic items. If you get them early, it will get you out of the Apex Pack outdoor pool, yielding one event item – chances are 50-50 to have an Epic or Legendary.
The heirloom will move to the heirloom shop after the event, and any players will be able to obtain it – if they are lucky enough to get heirlooms, it is. The evasive currency is the rarest item in Apex and will be guaranteed after 500 opened packs, although most players are not near the number.
The meaning of the heritage of Bangalore
Like most other heirlooms, the knife of Bangalore has a special meaning. According to the official blog post, she took the weapon from a defeated fighter and ‘she made it her own’. And players can see her own personal touch in the form of bottle caps in the sheath – a gift from her brother Jackson, as seen in Pathfinder’s Quest.
The book expands on the Williams delivery tradition. Each time a member is deployed to action, the Williams family hosts a huge party in honor of the soldier, with free-range food and drinks and numerous guests – ‘friends, family, neighbors, even the Daily Deliveries person’, according to Bangalore.
However, the true ritual takes place after the party is dead. The immediate family members crack open one last beer. And after they are done, they take the bottle cap and tie it to a leather rope.
“We make a leather bracelet and put it on the wrist of the person leaving,” she says in the book. ‘The bottle cap of the last beer you had with your family. A piece of us is with them, everywhere they go in the galaxy. ”
The book shows a photo of a bracelet with bottle caps, made by Bangalore’s brother Jackson, her closest relative, whose fate is still unknown. He disappears aboard the IMS Hestia over Solace after the ship was hit by a “freak accident” – a grenade that exploded the hull of the ship and sent Jackson into orbit.
Most people claim that Jackson is dead, but Bangalore believes he is still alive. “He put on his jumpsuit every morning,” she said in the book. ‘And when I last saw him, his eyes were open. And he smiles at me. He’s out there somewhere. ‘
Jackson’s disappearance hit Bangalore hard. The two were inseparably large. They were one year apart and competed in almost everything: ‘From the moment we could walk, I had to be better than him. […] It was not mean or malicious. That was just … what we did, ‘she confesses in the book.
The two had an ongoing challenge to prove who Williams’ best brother or sister was – a scorecard with a series of accomplishments and tasks that began in their early childhood and continued into adulthood. The first one to score 100 points would win.
Just as inseparable as they were, the two were 99-99 draws, and the tiebreaker would go to anyone who got their first assignment or graduated first. Jackson was in line to get his orders first, but he willingly gave the victory to Bangalore, ‘because my name started with an A, and I graduated seven seconds before he did’, she tells Pathfinder.
The bottle cap on the sheath is a reminder of all that Bangalore has lost. Most of her family was on Gridiron, a planet that is normally at least 20 years away. It’s also a sign of appreciation from Jackson, a close brother or sister – and someone who, according to her, is still somewhere abroad.
