With just one week left to start.
Apex Legends’ eighth season of content – also known as Mayhem – is almost here, and developer Respawn is poised for its February 2 release with a brand new game trailer, which features, among other things, the recently deleted Kings Canyon map.
The big addition of season 8 is of course the new hero Fuse – an Australian demolition expert and Bonecage champion from the planet Salvo, who, as you think, gets a substantial broadcast in the latest, unexpectedly 80s-style trailer.
There’s a look at the new leverage rifle The 30-30 Repeater, and it also appears that earlier leaks from data miners confirm that Fuse’s special abilities will include the use of its mechanical arm to throw stun grenades, as well as a devastating ultimate (apparently called The Motherlode) that sees the massive cannon play on its back.

Perhaps the trailer’s biggest revelation, however, is the first proper look at the decimated Kings Canyon map of Season 8, which was devastated following the explosive events of a recent movie.
The ensuing shipping crash opened up the map in the north and introduced new areas, gaming opportunities and information that Respawn outlined in more comprehensive detail in a related blog post. The most important new attractions, however, are the awesome crash site, a flooded version of Slum Lakes known as Spotted Lakes, a scenic road spread with impressive Leviathan legs – all complemented by a series of further tweaks and additions.
Players will be able to explore the revamped map – along with a new Battle Pass and a new Rated Season – when Apex Legends’ Season 8 arrives next Tuesday, February 2 on PS4, Xbox One and PC (and possibly Switch?).
