Apex Legends season 8 launches on February 2 and features the 16th Legend: Fuse of the Battle Royale, developer Respawn Entertainment announced Monday.
With the theme of ‘Mayhem’, it seems that Respawn hopes to promote Apex’s actions. On the official Apex Legends website, Respawn bothers that Fuse’s arrival after the tournament has the dramatic reform of Kings Canyon. However, there are no new screenshots to look at, but Respawn says it will show more soon.
New Legend Fuse is a huge veil and thief. You can see his original trailer below. When Fuse and his friend discover a gold grenade in the hands of a dead soldier on their home planet, Salvo, it causes a rivalry between the two that lasts through the years. While each friend constantly steals the gold grenade from the other, while Fuse builds a career as a ring fighter, the tension will eventually boil over as Salvo joins the Syndicate planets.
Fuse finally tells his friend that he is leaving Salvo to join the Apex Games, offers her a truce and gives her the grenade. This is clearly not a fan of friendly gestures; it sends her from the deep end. She grabs the grenade, pulls out the pen and surprises Fuse by throwing it at him and blowing off his entire arm. The fuse can be seen in a photo on the Apex Legends site with a metal arm that is probably crammed full of weapons.
Data miners have already found out some details about Fuse’s capabilities. With ‘Airburst Grenade’ he can, what else, shoot a grenade out of his arm. It is believed that his ultimate ability is ‘The Motherlode’, which could make him run a missile off his back and burn anything in his path.
Apex players who prefer other legends will not be left in the cold. At the start of season 8, a new weapon called the 30-30 Repeater, a future leverage rifle, will be available.
Apex Legends Season 8 features all the other usual things you’d expect: a 100-level battle pass with skins and other cosmetics, a competitive mode, and more.
Apex Legends is also coming to Nintedo Switch in 2021 after a previous delay.
