Apex Legends Reaches Brand New Simultaneous User Peak on Steam • Eurogamer.net

Apex Legends has achieved a brand new simultaneous user peak on Steam.

The free-to-play royal game – which was released as an exclusive EA Origin on Steam in November 2020 after nearly 18 months – hit 198,235 simultaneous players on Steam yesterday, according to SteamDB (highest thanks, Dexerto).

The recent increase in new and returning players exploring season 8 means that Apex Legends is currently the fifth most played game on Steam, making it more popular than GTA 5, Rainbow Six Siege and Team Fortress 2.

It’s also in the top ten most watched games on Twitch, which means more people want to watch Apex Legends than FIFA 21, CS: GO and Valheim.

Top Bites in Apex Legends? I have bad news – developer Respawn recently said the popular Legend will get some attention in the near future.

Caustic has long been one of the legends that players rarely spend a lot of quality time with, but after recent adjustments and fans, he now boasts the highest win rate in matches lasting more than 20 minutes and starting to dominate matches.

The news came days after fan-favorite Wraith increased the size of her hitbox. As outlined in season 8 patch notes, Respawn hopes to control Wraith’s power without weakening her abilities, and one way to do that is by changing her hit box.
