With the end of Season 9 on May 4th, we look at all the planned lovers and nerves that Apex Legends developers have been saying they are working on. All of these things are subject to change, but that’s what we know for now.
It’s all that time – time to look ahead to the next season of Apex Legends, and to sum up all the Legend lovers and nerves that Respawn has confirmed so far. Some major changes have taken place in the Chaos Theory Collection event, but more are planned.
As the balance team is constantly working on new changes and sometimes completely reworking to keep the game fresh and healthy, they will regularly update the community on social media and Reddit.
Since it can be difficult to keep track of all their comments, we are going to put it together here. This article will be updated when we hear new information about what the developers are working on.
Legend lovers and nerves for season 9 (so far)
It’s important to note that these are not all the changes in the season 9 patch – only those confirmed or discussed by developers.
Gibraltar
Gibraltar’s Gun Shield is inherited in season 9.
Bad news for Gibraltar main facilities – he’s looking for another nerve in season 9. Respawn actually wanted to send these nerfs in the 8.1 update, but some bugs meant it had to be postponed.
The nerves for Gibby will be specific to his gun shield. Respawn said the bleeding was going to occur through damage, meaning his shield would do just as much damage, and a little ‘blow through’ to Gibraltar itself.
In practice, this would mean that his rifle shield could no longer tank an entire Kraber shot – some of the damage would go through.
Lifebuoy

Lifeline’s passives can be difficult to counteract if used correctly.
This is also bad news for Lifeline headlines – but not all bad news, as Respawn is working on a nerve and a buff for the doctor.
The most important point in Lifeline is the passive, which according to the developers is ‘frustrating’ to play against. But if they passively weaken her, they will also make the best of her.
At the moment, Respawn has not yet confirmed what these changes are going to be, but said it is playing out now. So expect a passive nerve, but an Ultimate buff for Lifeline.
Loba
Loba is one of the list of Legends to be updated in the season 9 update.
Loba chiefs are begging for improvements to her kit since it was first released, and hopefully season 9 will finally be that time.
Respawn has confirmed that they have “season” for Loba’s bracelet in Season 9. It could just mean a solution to the bugs that prevents her bracelet from ending up many times, or it could mean a bigger improvement.
One change players can hope for is a faster animation time, making Loba less vulnerable as he enters / leaves the teleport.
Horizon
Horizon’s “big nerve” is planned for season 9, although it may not be ready in time.
Horizon constantly cut back after releasing very strongly. Nerfs in almost every subsequent update, for her tactical and ultimate, was still not enough to make her fall out of the first place as a legend.
So Respawn has plans. Although they have not yet said what exactly will be nerf, game designer Daniel Klein said: ‘We were not ready with the big nerf for Horizon, so we sent him the first time. Bigger nerf coming soon, hopefully S9, but no guarantees. ”
It’s possible that Horizon escapes this big nerve at the start of season 9, but expects it at some point.
Other legends
The following legends are not getting a chance yet, but Respawn said they are investigating some improvements.
Revenant
The developers have been trying to figure out the best way to improve Revenant’s place in the meta for a while, but have yet to confirm anything. One possible idea was to change his hitbox – similar to how they adapted Wraith and Pathfinder, but in a more positive way.
Crypto
There is no guarantee that any buff will come in Crypto in season 9, but the developers have said they are exploring potential improvements.
Nothing is currently planned, sorry 🙁 I want to give Crypto even more love, but he is currently in a pretty good condition. I do think that a medium size processing of how his drone works is necessary at some point, but it may take a while before we get to that.
