Apex Legends has announced upcoming server maintenance, and instead of taking the game completely offline for the duration, Apex will temporarily reset to a state that is basically season 0. During the maintenance, players may lose access to their inventory, store and cosmetic unlocks and only the standard characters will be available.

While the cast of Apex Legends grew to 16 characters over the course of the year eight seasons, the game initially launched its pre-season, or Season 0, with just eight characters, six of whom were free to play and two who needed an unlock with Apex Coins of Legend Tokens. It is unclear whether the “default” characters that are playable contain the full cast of eight in the preseason, or only the six legends that do not need to be unlocked.

The maintenance takes place between 02:30 PT and ends at 05:30 PT on 25 February, giving players the chance to experience the game as it has not been since early 2019. Apex does not normally maintain this type of schedule, which leads players to hope that it can finally address some of the server issues that have been going on since the game’s launch, but recently bad.

Other players in a Reddit thread about the interview commented on the limited game that will be available during downtime, and some hope that this could lead to Apex launching a proper LTM where only the original characters of the game are playable .
