Apex Legends Fight Night event notes

This is a few weeks ago Apex Legends‘Pathfinder. Last week, the wrestling hook-swing robot had a fantastically animated short story about his origin story, and this week he gets his own in-game opportunity. The new event is called Fight Night, and it brings a few box-themed twists to regular matches of Apex Legends.

The biggest change in the Fight Night event is the new limited time mode called Airdrop Escalation. This new mode is what developer Respawn Entertainment calls a “Takeover” mode, which means it will replace the regular “Play Apex” mode for a limited time. Airdrop escalation will mostly be royal just like normal combat, except that it will include many more air drops, all with fully equipped weapons.

Each game of Airdrop Escalation will start with a few drops of air scattered on the map, and each round will drop a few more of the track to the battlefield. Each has a high quality loot and weapons with all their attachments.

As for the more Pathfinder-specific parts of the event, there is also Pathfinder’s Town Takeover where players can enter a battle ring to tackle each other in hand-to-hand combat. Inside the ring, called on the map Ring, players will only be able to use their fists as weapons, and no one will be able to shoot or throw grenades to interrupt the melee. Whoever survives can pick up extra loot and leave the ring with its loot behind.

Finally, the Fight Night event also includes some balance updates for Apex Legends, including a buff for both Rampart and Caustic. There is also a nice quality of life enhancement that allows you to use Ultimate Accelerants automatically without opening your inventory. When you cool down Ultimate, all you have to do is press the button to activate it, and your character will use an Ultimate Accelerant instead.

You can find the full notes below for a look at all the changes that have been made to this patch.

Apex Legends Fight Night Event Plaster Notes

Legends

Rampart

  • Enhanced cover: Cooling reduced from 30 seconds to 20 seconds

Byts

  • Nox Gas Trap: Cooling reduced from 25 seconds to 20 seconds

Arms

Hemlok

  • Reduced damage from 22 to 20

Mastiff

  • Spread 3rd / 4th grains to reduce the maximum range of 4 hits (was +/- 7.5 degrees, now +/- 10)

Prowler

  • Reserve bullets increased from 175 to 210

Quality of life

  • Ultimate accelerators can now be used without opening your inventory. If your ultimate is currently unavailable, simply press the button (or buttons on a controller) to activate it, and you will remove any stored accelerator in your inventory and use it automatically.
  • If a party member leaves your lobby for any reason, all party members will be marked as ‘not ready’. It should stop accidental launches in a match when your partner has dodged for a second.
  • The fabulous “Mark all as seen” button has been added. Click here to remove the annoying (I mean helpful) red dots.
  • If you ping the nearest response box (from spectator), you will always ping the nearest beacon, unless you do not have enough time to use it before the ring closes over it, instead of going to the nearest beacon in the next secure ring go.
  • We now show you how many treasure packs are needed to get the next comic book. This should make it easier for people who follow the new story to know how far they are.
  • Caustic must now smash the door with his Heirloom hammer instead of his leg, if available.
  • We’ve added a little bit of information in the Find Friends window to describe a situation where your friend could not be found due to his EA account settings.
